Zion Lutheran Early Childhood Education Center

It is my pleasure to introduce you to our Early Childhood Education Center. We have a new facility to better serve the families of Hinsdale and the surrounding area. We are excited about our programs for two  to six-year-olds that include both partial-day and full- day opportunities.

For those of you who know us, we have a strong foundation in Christian education. We have taken those roots and incorporated current research to build our programs. Our programs are inspired by the “Reggio Emilia” approach to education. In 1991, Newsweek magazine noted that the 33 infant/toddler schools and preschools in Reggio Emilia, Italy were among the ten best ten schools systems in the world.  Since then, early childhood education around the world has been influenced by their practices.

In addition to our Reggio approach to Christian education, we recognize that music learning supports all learning.  Language skills, cognitive growth, emotional growth, social growth, and physical development are all supported by music and more specifically, by a Music Together ® curriculum.  Music Together® is a comprehensive, research-based, music and movement curriculum that creates a school-wide music-making community.  Children, staff, and families are all involved!

We believe children are lovers of learning and we create an environment to encourage and support this desire. Our learning environment is provided by skilled and caring teachers. They create opportunities for children to interact, as well as use their creative thinking, exploration and problem-solving skills. As you visit our center, you will note that this learning environment takes place both indoors and outdoors.

We consider it a privilege and honor to join with families supporting the growth of their children. Financial assistance is available to qualified applicants. Please come to visit our center or if you have any questions, please call me at 630-323-0065 or send an email to info@zionlutheranecec.org.

In service to God’s children,

Peggy Farrell, MAT/EC
